Sugs Lloyd Limited, a prominent EPC solutions provider specializing in electrical transmission and distribution, solar, and civil infrastructure projects, has announced the award of a turnkey contract from Dakshin Gujarat Vij Company Limited (DGVCL). The contract covers the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of Fault Passage Indicators (FPIs) to improve fault detection and monitoring across 7 kV to 13 kV overhead lines. This project marks a significant step forward for Sugs Lloyd in strengthening its presence in Gujarat, one of India’s leading power distribution hubs, while advancing its nationwide mission to deliver reliable and innovative energy infrastructure solutions.

The project involves the installation of advanced Fault Passage Indicators (FPIs) using 20 kV insulated hot sticks, strategically placed at 600-metre intervals across the network. This deployment is designed to strengthen monitoring and improve operational efficiency through cutting-edge technology.

Once implemented, the initiative will significantly enhance grid resilience by enabling faster outage detection and reducing downtime. With a mobilisation schedule of 45 days, the project is set for completion within two months, ensuring timely delivery of improved reliability and service continuity. The deployment of FPIs will allow real-time fault detection, helping utilities shorten outage durations and improve service reliability for millions of households and businesses across Gujarat.

“We are pleased to collaborate with DGVCL on this landmark project aimed at strengthening grid reliability and outage management,” said Santosh Shah, Chairman, Sugs Lloyd. “This achievement reflects our dedication to delivering cutting-edge EPC solutions that support India’s power sector modernisation and energy transition.”

Satyakam Basu, CEO of Sugs Lloyd, added, “Expanding our footprint in Gujarat aligns with our growth strategy and reinforces our position as a trusted partner for grid automation and EPC services nationwide. With our strong engineering expertise and execution capabilities, we are committed to setting new benchmarks for safety, quality, and precision.”
