The World Trade Center (WTC) Tower, a landmark facility within the Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ) in Visakhapatnam, has been officially launched, offering one lakh square feet of advanced infrastructure to support India’s MedTech innovation ecosystem. Designed to integrate cutting-edge laboratories with collaborative workspaces, creative interiors, and activity hubs, this state-of-the-art facility aims to create an environment where medical technology startups can innovate, prototype, test, and scale their solutions with ease.

The WTC Tower is equipped with rapid prototyping and testing labs, regulatory support services, and modern research and development spaces. It is poised to become a transformative hub for research-driven entrepreneurship in healthcare.

Anchored by AIC-AMTZ Medivalley Incubation—India’s premier MedTech incubation center—the facility will offer an ideal launchpad for innovators. Medivalley, which currently supports 150 startups, is set to double its incubation capacity to 300 by FY 2026 with this expansion.

In addition to robust infrastructure, Medivalley facilitates funding access through partnerships with agencies such as DBT-BIRAC, NITI Aayog, DPIIT, ICMR, and the Department of Pharmaceuticals. It also opens global avenues through collaborations with WHO, World Health Innovation Forum (WHIF), TiE, and IASP.

The WTC Tower’s ecosystem is designed to support MedTech solutions ranging from surgical instruments and robotics to AI-driven wearable devices, fast-tracking their commercialization for startups with global aspirations. Over the past five years, Medivalley has incubated more than 150 startups, supported over 40 research outcomes, and facilitated patents and technology transfers.

Dr Jitendra Sharma, Executive Chairman of AIC-AMTZ MediValley and Managing Director & Founder CEO of AMTZ, described the expansion as a pivotal step in India’s healthcare innovation journey “This expansion is not merely about creating more space—it’s about empowering the next generation of MedTech leaders. We are committed to ensuring that every idea, no matter how small, finds the right ecosystem to grow into impactful products that serve not only India but the world.”

He added, “With our new 50,000 sq. ft. incubation hub, we are responding to the growing demand from startups and investors seeking a trusted, affordable, and world-class ecosystem. This expansion further strengthens the Make-in-India mission and positions Medivalley as a global hub for MedTech innovation.”

Medivalley’s strategic location within the 270-acre AMTZ campus, along with its expansive network of partnerships, adds immense value. The incubation has formal collaborations with IBSC as a training partner, Biovalley as a life-sciences knowledge partner, the upcoming MedTech University as an academic partner, and IIM Vizag and IIT Tirupati for joint research and training initiatives. These collaborations have led to significant achievements, including NABL-accredited PCT labs, BIS recognition, CDSCO registration, and ISO/IEC 17025 certification for testing and calibration services.

Further strengthening its ecosystem, Medivalley has partnered with over 150 corporate entities and 50 academic institutions, while earning accolades such as NITI Aayog’s Best MedTech Incubator in India, CII MedTech Quality Champion (Platinum), and Best Ecosystem Enabler at the AIM Congress in Dubai. Under the leadership of Dr Dilip Kumar Chekuri, CEO of MediValley and recipient of the prestigious AAMI John D Hughes Iconoclast Award in the USA, the incubation continues to transform the MedTech landscape.

Health-tech founders have praised the support provided by Medivalley. Dr Nidun Jacob of Griva Healthcare Pvt Ltd remarked, “At Medivalley, we didn’t just receive workspace—we gained access to mentors, prototyping labs, testing facilities, and investors, all under one roof. Such integrated support is rare in India’s MedTech ecosystem.”

Arun Kumar of Santulit Innovators added, “Our journey from concept to commercialization was significantly accelerated thanks to Medivalley’s supportive ecosystem, especially the easy access to AMTZ’s testing and certification facilities that helped us bring our product to market faster.”

Medivalley offers end-to-end assistance to startups—from ideation to commercialization—providing affordable infrastructure, expert guidance, and global market access through the WTC platform. The expansion reflects a commitment to addressing the growing demands of India’s MedTech startup community while laying the foundation for global leadership in medical technology innovation.
