Building on the success of its first edition, the Inter Passenger Terminal Show (IPTS) is set to return with a new name and broader focus: Airport360 Expo. Taking place April 15–16, 2026, at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai, this event will bring together all aspects of airport innovation—from terminal design and maintenance to passenger experience and sustainability—making it the most inclusive aviation platform in India.
Hosted by Media Fusion, Airport360 Expo follows IPTS 2025, which attracted over 2,200 visitors, 62 exhibitors across 10 countries, and more than 50 top industry leaders from organisations such as Digi Yatra, Dubai Airports, Navi Mumbai International Airport, MIAL, and others. The upcoming event promises deeper conversations, wider solution showcases, and practical outcomes aligned with India’s fast-growing aviation sector.
“With the transition from IPTS to Airport360 Expo, we’re shifting focus from isolated terminal elements to a comprehensive ecosystem where design, operations, technology, and passenger needs work together,” said Taher Patrawala, Managing Director, Media Fusion. “This platform will bring industry players together to develop future-ready solutions tailored for India’s dynamic growth.”
India is rapidly emerging as the world’s third-largest air travel market, with domestic passenger numbers exceeding 160 million in FY24, a 6.1% increase from the previous year. The government has allocated ₹98,000 crore for aviation infrastructure by 2027, including 21 new airports and upgrades to over 100 terminals. This unprecedented growth demands innovative approaches to terminal efficiency, sustainability, and passenger convenience. With more than 50 airports under construction and flight movements expected to surpass 2 million annually by 2035, Airport360 Expo ensures all parts of India’s aviation network are represented.
Through a combination of exhibitions and conferences, the event will focus on integrated solutions such as smart terminal layouts with biometric systems, AI-enhanced passenger management, predictive equipment upkeep, automated ground services, and optimized apron operations. It will also highlight critical areas like cybersecurity, live data monitoring, green infrastructure, and emissions reduction. New topics like airport retail trends, transport connectivity, and workforce resilience will also be featured to meet both local and global operational challenges.
Despite strong growth, challenges remain. Around 85% of India’s maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) work is outsourced, even as the domestic market is projected to reach USD 4 billion by 2031. Additionally, ground handling inefficiencies and terminal disruptions cause 25% of flight delays, emphasizing the need for smarter coordination, digital workflows, and technology-driven airport systems.
Airport360 Expo aims to tackle these challenges by bringing together aviation officials, airlines, manufacturers, system providers, tech companies, consultants, and regulators to craft practical, scalable solutions.
“In a time when the aviation sector is being reshaped by climate goals, digital transformation, and rapid passenger growth, Airport360 Expo will provide the strategic roadmap for creating intelligent, inclusive, and resilient airports,” stated Joseph G Patil, IRS (Customs & Indirect Taxes), Joint Director of the Directorate General of Taxpayer Services.
