On July 23, Desay Battery, a prominent global supplier of energy storage solutions, held a major production launch event in Changsha, China. The occasion highlighted a new lineup of safety-first battery cells and systems, including UPS 2.0 and an integrated Source-Grid-Load-Storage solution designed for data centers. Desay’s new safety-focused battery cells and systems showcase cutting-edge technology designed to withstand high temperatures and prevent overcharging. Equipped with proprietary pressure sensors, these cells allow real-time monitoring of battery health. Meanwhile, AI-powered predictive models provide quick risk warnings and accurate lifespan estimates. Additionally, material improvements contribute to greater energy efficiency and longer durability, underlining the company’s approach to proactive safety through both built-in and active protective features.

The event also featured the introduction of UPS 2.0, which uses high-discharge 8C-rate battery cells to offer up to 300KVA of emergency backup power for ten minutes. The integrated Source-Grid-Load-Storage solution provides a competitive cost of electricity (LCOE) of RMB 0.25 per kWh, helping data centers cut peak power expenses by as much as 79%.

Yu Qingjiao, Secretary-General of the Zhongguancun New-Battery Technology Innovation Alliance, praised Desay’s latest products for addressing crucial safety challenges while setting new standards in lifecycle protection and system integration. He described the launch as a benchmark within the industry, aligning with national goals for safer and higher-performing energy technologies.
