VA TECH WABAG, an Indian multinational specializing in water technology, has been awarded a contract by the Saudi Water Authority to design, engineer, supply, construct, and commission a 300 million liters per day (MLD) sea water reverse osmosis (SWRO) desalination plant in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia. The project is valued at around USD 272 million (SAR 1,019 million / INR 2,332 crore).
This large-scale greenfield project will be situated on the western coast of Saudi Arabia. WABAG has received the Letter of Award, with formal contracting procedures to begin shortly. The official start date for project execution will be communicated after contract finalization.
