GameChange Solar has announced the deployment of its Genius Tracker system in India’s first large-scale solar project utilizing First Solar’s Series 7 thin film photovoltaic (PV) modules. Developed by Cleantech Solar and built by Jakson Green, the project, located in Tamil Nadu, has a total planned capacity of 44.8 MWp.

The first phase (20.3 MWp) of the project was successfully commissioned in April 2025, marking the introduction of First Solar’s 535 W Series 7 modules in the Indian utility-scale market. GameChange Solar’s trackers were chosen for their compatibility with the Series 7 modules’ large-format rear frame design, which allows for simplified installation, enhanced structural stability, and superior energy performance. The second phase, with a capacity of 24.5 MWp, is currently under development.

“We are excited to see our Series 7 modules power this pioneering project in India,” said Sujoy Ghosh, Vice President of Business Development at First Solar. “These advanced modules are designed for optimal performance in India’s challenging climate and integrate seamlessly with GameChange Solar’s Genius Tracker system.”

K Krishnan, Joint Managing Director of Jakson Green, added, “We’re proud to contribute to this milestone project, which sets a new standard for utility-scale solar in India. The trackers from GameChange Solar are key to maximizing energy output. This technology demonstrates how innovations in solar infrastructure can enhance the efficiency of large-scale projects.”

Vikas Bansal, President of International Operations at GameChange Solar, commented, “As the solar industry moves towards new module formats like First Solar’s Series 7, adaptability and reliability are crucial. This project showcases our ability to collaborate effectively and provides a clear example of what will define the future of utility-scale solar.”

GameChange Solar ranks among the world’s top suppliers of tracking solutions for large-scale solar farms and ground-mounted solar systems. With over 43 GW of systems delivered globally, the company is known for its streamlined installation, durable engineering, and value-driven design. Their tracker systems help maximize energy output by allowing solar panels to follow the sun’s path, while also offering structural protection during extreme weather.

Jakson Green, an energy transition platform based in Noida, India, and Dubai, is part of the Jakson Group. The company has a solar EPC portfolio exceeding 8 GW globally, manages 5 GW of renewable operations and maintenance (O&M), and has more than 1.5 GW of assets in development. Jakson Green is also expanding its efforts into the production of green hydrogen, biofuels, and low-carbon methanol, with a manufacturing capacity for 300 MW of electrolyzers.
