Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd has launched the RapidJet TDS 2000, a new instant water heater designed to perform efficiently in hard water conditions, especially during the monsoon season when water quality often declines. The product features Anti-Scale Technology, a first for Crompton’s water heater range.
This innovation targets the long-standing issues caused by high Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) in water sourced from borewells, which many households rely on during and after heavy rainfall. Borewell water in India frequently shows TDS levels ranging from 600 to 2000 ppm, which can lead to scale buildup on heating elements, reducing energy efficiency and increasing maintenance needs.
With the RapidJet TDS 2000, Crompton aims to offer a reliable solution built for these demanding conditions. The heater’s element is tested to operate effectively in water with TDS levels up to 2000 ppm, making it well-suited for households in regions facing water hardness due to seasonal changes or deep borewell dependence.
The RapidJet TDS 2000 water heater is equipped with an advanced anti-scale heating element designed to resist mineral buildup. This feature is particularly beneficial in areas with hard water, as it helps maintain consistent performance over time while improving energy efficiency. By preventing scale formation, the heating element ensures that the appliance operates smoothly and requires less frequent maintenance.
Built to function effectively in regions with high water hardness, the RapidJet TDS 2000 is suitable for use with water containing up to 2000 ppm of total dissolved solids (TDS). This capability allows the heater to deliver stable and reliable heating performance, extending its overall service life. Its durability makes it a reliable choice for households dealing with tough water conditions.
The heater’s internal tank is constructed from food-grade stainless steel, which provides strong resistance to rust and corrosion. This not only ensures the appliance’s longevity but also supports water hygiene by preventing contamination. Users can trust that the water remains clean and safe for everyday use.
Externally, the appliance features a rust-proof outer body made of thermoplastic, offering added protection against moisture and humidity, especially during the monsoon season. Additionally, the RapidJet TDS 2000 holds ISI certification, confirming its compliance with rigorous safety standards. This is particularly crucial in wet conditions, where the risk of electrical hazards is significantly higher.
Malhar Vadke, Vice President – Large Domestic Appliances at Crompton, said “Monsoon brings challenges like water contamination and higher humidity, which often affect appliance performance. The RapidJet TDS 2000 is designed to meet these issues head-on with durable materials and advanced heating technology. This launch reflects our commitment to offering practical, high-quality solutions that directly benefit Indian households.”
Crompton’s RapidJet series has reached over 11 lakh households since its introduction in 2019. Building on that success, the company is promoting awareness of anti-scale technology among its teams and retail partners to better support consumers. The RapidJet TDS 2000 is now available through Crompton’s authorized dealers and leading e-commerce platforms.
With a legacy of over 85 years, Crompton continues to serve millions of Indian homes with a wide product portfolio including fans, pumps, lighting, water heaters, kitchen appliances, and home essentials. The company has earned multiple national awards for energy efficiency and product innovation and has been recognized in several industry rankings for brand leadership and performance.
