Henkel Adhesive Technologies Unveils New Automotive Warehouse in Chakan, Pune

Henkel Adhesive Technologies India has opened a state-of-the-art warehouse in Chakan, Pune—one of the country’s major automotive manufacturing hubs. This custom-built facility has been developed to cater specifically to the needs of automotive customers, supporting Just-in-Time (JIT) logistics models for greater efficiency.

The new site enhances supplier collaboration and fosters innovation in prototyping. It will handle non-standard prototype materials (IDH) with full SAP-enabled traceability, including critical details such as batch numbers, production data, and expiry timelines. Designed with scalability in mind, the warehouse is equipped to support anticipated growth and plant expansions through 2030, reinforcing Henkel’s commitment to the evolving demands of the Indian automotive industry.

In mid-2024, Henkel completed Phase III of its Kurkumbh plant with a new Loctite production line, equipped with automation like ASRS and Industry 4.0 systems, aiming for carbon neutral operations by 2030. Most recently, in February 2025, they expanded by launching a 17,000 sq ft Application Engineering Center in Chennai alongside another electronics-focused manufacturing unit at Kurkumbh—both tailored to support India’s booming electronics market under the Make in India and PLI initiatives.
