Moglix, a leading B2B e-commerce and supply chain technology firm in Asia, has announced the opening of a new greenfield bitumen production facility under its manufacturing division, DRG Industries. Located in Kosi Kalan, Mathura, the plant is slated to begin commercial operations in July 2025. This initiative underscores Moglix’s strategic focus on supporting India’s infrastructure growth with innovative and sustainable construction materials.

India’s goal of a developed nation depends heavily on building infrastructure that is not only expansive but also reliable, safe, and eco-friendly. As the country boasts the world’s second-largest road network, the challenge ahead lies in enhancing road durability and performance while minimizing environmental impact and ensuring safety.

Road safety remains a critical national concern, with government targets aiming to significantly reduce road accidents by 2030. High-quality, long-lasting materials that improve pavement strength and reduce wear are crucial. Moglix’s foray into bitumen production aligns with this vision, aiming to create safer, smarter roadways.

Through DRG Industries, Moglix will offer a new generation of enhanced bitumen products such as polymer-modified bitumen, microsurfacing emulsions, and hard binders. These products are designed to extend the lifespan of roads, lower maintenance requirements, and reduce overall carbon emissions.

A notable product from the facility is microsurfacing, widely recognized internationally for its ability to seal road surface cracks, improve traction, and increase durability. Compared to conventional resurfacing methods, microsurfacing can double pavement life while cutting carbon emissions by nearly half. In addition to advanced production techniques, Moglix is investing in domestic research and development to customize bitumen solutions that address India’s varied geography, traffic conditions, and climatic zones.

Rahul Garg, Founder and CEO of Moglix, remarked, “Roads are the lifeblood of a developed India. Strengthening them with durable and sustainable materials is essential. Through DRG Industries, we are committed to creating road infrastructure that lasts longer, performs better, and meets the demands of the future, with sustainability at its core.”

Spread over 3.5 acres, the DRG Industries facility features state-of-the-art Denimotech mills, automated processing lines, and an in-house R&D center. With a monthly processing capacity exceeding 28,000 metric tons, this plant positions Moglix as a key contributor to India’s growing bitumen market.

The plant utilizes biomass-fueled, carbon-neutral boilers equipped with scrubber and filtration systems, making the heating process environmentally responsible and aligned with Moglix’s commitment to sustainable practices. Strategically located, the facility will serve northern and central India, supporting infrastructure projects across several states and neighboring export markets like Nepal.

Besides advancing India’s infrastructure goals, the facility is expected to create local jobs and strengthen small and medium enterprises through partnerships with regional vendors and contractors. As a greenfield project, DRG Industries showcases Moglix’s capability to develop scalable and sustainable industrial infrastructure, with plans to expand bitumen manufacturing across the country.

Moglix is one of Asia’s foremost B2B commerce platforms, revolutionizing procurement and supply chain management for manufacturing and infrastructure industries.
