Ola Electric, India’s leading electric two-wheeler manufacturer, has begun the mass rollout of its latest software update, MoveOS 5. Designed and developed entirely in-house, MoveOS powers both the S1 series of scooters and the newly introduced Roadster X motorcycles. This new version brings notable upgrades in performance, range, system reliability, and user customization.

The company stated that MoveOS 5 represents a major step forward in delivering a smarter, more efficient, and highly customizable riding experience. The update includes enhancements in energy management, real-time monitoring, and greater control over ride dynamics, all aimed at maximizing performance and improving overall vehicle functionality.

The latest MoveOS 5 update delivers enhanced performance across all Ola vehicles, particularly for those on the Gen 3 platform. Refinements to the Motor Control Unit (MCU) have improved overall ride quality and extended range. New battery management features also contribute to better energy optimization and improved long-term battery health. Regenerative braking has been fine-tuned to increase reliability and power recovery while riding.

MoveOS 5 introduces a new DIY Mode that gives riders more control over how their scooter performs. Users can now tweak settings like maximum speed, throttle sensitivity, power delivery, and braking feedback, allowing for a riding profile that matches their comfort and style preferences. This makes for a more tailored and responsive riding experience.

The Road-Trip Mode is designed for group travel, offering tools like route planning, live location tracking, and trip coordination features. Riders can set up and manage group rides, view everyone’s real-time location on Ola Maps, and use safety features such as SOS alerts. Trip organizers have access to route updates and permissions to ensure smooth execution during the ride.

Navigating narrow or crowded parking spaces becomes more manageable with Easy Park. This feature lets the scooter move forward or backward at a controlled speed of up to 4 km/h. With a simple twist of the throttle, users can shift directions easily, making parking less stressful in tight spots.

MoveOS 5 brings a host of safety features, including live location sharing through the Ola Electric App or the scooter interface. Riders can set a specific duration for sharing or stop it anytime, with links sent to trusted contacts. Emergency contacts can also receive instant SOS alerts with GPS details in case of trouble. The Find My Vehicle function adds another layer of convenience by helping users locate their scooter through sound and light cues.

With the new Notification Centre, riders can view important updates from selected apps directly on their scooter display. Users can customize which messages show up to minimize distractions. Additionally, the WhatsApp Filters feature allows notifications to be limited to selected contacts, all users, or completely turned off for a more focused ride.

MoveOS 5 introduces useful infotainment widgets like live cricket score updates and a weather display. The cricket widget streams real-time match scores right on the screen, while the weather widget provides instant access to local temperature and air quality index (AQI), helping riders plan better for their journeys. The MoveOS 5 update is being delivered over-the-air (OTA) to all eligible S1 and Roadster X models starting this week.
