JSW Steel announced on Tuesday that its crude steel production reached 7.26 million tonnes (MnT) in the April–June quarter of FY26, marking a 14% increase compared to 6.35 MnT in the same period last year. Despite the year-on-year rise, production dipped 5% quarter-on-quarter from 7.63 MnT recorded in the January–March quarter (Q4 FY25), primarily due to scheduled maintenance shutdowns of blast furnaces. According to the company, operations have since resumed and the blast furnaces are now functioning at full capacity.
JSW Steel reported a capacity utilization rate of 87% across its Indian operations during the quarter. In India alone, the company produced 7.02 MnT of steel in Q1 FY26, representing a 15% increase from 6.12 MnT in Q1 FY25. However, the figure was slightly lower than the 7.40 MnT reported in the previous quarter.
Meanwhile, JSW Steel USA’s Ohio facility recorded crude steel production of 0.24 MnT during the quarter—consistent with both the preceding quarter and the same period last year.
