In a strategic initiative to tackle India’s escalating urban waste challenges, Netel India Limited (part of the Neterwala Group) and Organic Recycling Systems Limited (ORS) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The partnership aims to collaborate on upcoming solid waste management and waste-to-energy ventures. Their efforts will focus on Public-Private Partnership (PPP) and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) models, emphasizing integrated solutions such as Compressed Biogas (CBG) production.

This joint effort will enable both companies to participate in future PPP and EPC projects that include operations and maintenance services. ORS will spearhead the engineering and technical aspects, particularly for projects involving organic waste treatment and CBG generation. Meanwhile, Netel India will handle project financing and oversee RDF-to-energy conversion processes.

Beyond new initiatives, the partnership also seeks to enhance Netel India’s existing environmental facilities by incorporating ORS’s advanced biogas technologies to boost environmental outcomes and operational effectiveness.

Yashas Bhand, CEO and Whole-Time Director of ORS, stated, “This agreement reflects our commitment to solving India’s environmental challenges through collaboration. Netel India’s strengths complement ours, and we believe this partnership will open doors to innovation, growth, and impactful results.”

Rajesh Saigal, Group President of Engineering at the Neterwala Group, added, “With India facing increasing demands for better waste management and renewable energy, partnerships like this offer promising scalable solutions that combine technical innovation with strong delivery capabilities.”

Founded in 2008 by industry experts, Organic Recycling Systems Limited is a leader in sustainable waste management and valorisation. ORS designs and implements efficient, eco-friendly technologies across the waste processing spectrum. The company runs India’s first municipal solid waste processing plant using a patented anaerobic biomethanation technology recognized under the National Master Plan by the Government of India. One of its key projects in Solapur, Maharashtra, transforms biodegradable waste into Compressed Bio-Gas (CBG) and organic fertilizer, showcasing a scalable circular economy model.
