Dayco, known for more than a century of belt production and longstanding partnerships with vehicle manufacturers, will participate in Eurobike Frankfurt for the first time this June. The company will present new drivetrain solutions specifically designed for electric bicycles, highlighting improvements in efficiency, durability, and performance.
“Our expertise in engine components and drive systems extends across automotive, industrial, and aftermarket sectors,” said Marco Di Meco, Director of Strategy & Business Development for Belts at Dayco. “We’re now applying that experience to the personal mobility market, where we’re launching our integrated transmission system (iTS) and a range of three specialized carbon belts.”
The iTS, introduced under the Dayco Power® brand, offers advantages over both traditional chain systems and existing toothed belt alternatives. The system features a precisely engineered belt and sprocket interface, designed with matching widths to improve power transfer and reduce component wear. This results in a quieter ride and improved overall performance.
Dayco has also developed three distinct belts—EHT Carbon, HT Carbon, and UHT Carbon—each optimized for different usage needs. While all belts share a similar structure, they differ in rubber composition and internal materials. For instance, the EHT Carbon belt uses EPDM rubber, while the HT and UHT variants use HNBR for higher resistance and strength. These belt and sprocket combinations are tailored to deliver high performance across a range of electric bike applications, ensuring long service life and minimal maintenance.
In addition to showcasing the new drivetrain system, Dayco will present the UHT Carbon belt designed for use inside electric motors. This solution is already in production with several electric bike manufacturers in China, signaling Dayco’s broader commitment to the personal mobility sector.
