Volks Energie has announced that it has secured its second contract with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL) for a combined solar power and lithium-ion battery storage project. This new agreement involves the installation of a solar energy system paired with lithium-ion batteries and charging infrastructure along BPCL’s Irugur-Devangonthi pipeline, running from Irugur in Tamil Nadu to Devangonthi in Karnataka. This follows a similar project previously awarded for pipelines in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

The solar and storage system will provide off-grid backup power to essential pipeline control stations and other key infrastructure. This will ensure continuous operation of critical systems, including SCADA, Cathodic Protection, and other energy-dependent equipment in remote pipeline locations.

“This project is a key milestone for VolksEnergie, reinforcing our expanding role in delivering solar and battery storage solutions for the oil and gas sector, while contributing to India’s sustainable energy future,” said a company representative.

Volks Energie is a leading provider of energy storage solutions, HVAC systems, and solar energy technologies in India. The company offers a comprehensive range of products and services, including Ni-Cd Batteries (which last 4X longer than VRLA batteries), Lithium-ion Batteries, Battery Chargers, HVAC Systems designed for industrial and extreme environments, and scalable Solar Energy Solutions.
