Haldia Petrochemicals Wraps Up 45-Day Maintenance at Haldia Facility

Haldia Petrochemicals Limited (HPL) has successfully completed its scheduled maintenance turnaround for 2025 (TA25) at its plant in Purba Midnapore district, West Bengal. The 45-day operation, which began on April 16, was aimed at strengthening plant reliability, improving efficiency, and enhancing long-term sustainability, the company said in a statement on Thursday.

The completion of the turnaround is expected to result in a consistent increase in throughput, contributing to improved operational performance. According to HPL, the maintenance efforts focused on upgrading infrastructure, reinforcing safety protocols, and integrating new technologies to support future growth.

“The maintenance work has brought several benefits—enhanced plant reliability, stricter safety standards, and a stronger technological base to support innovation and expansion,” the statement noted. It added that the revamp has led to better process efficiency, reduced fuel usage, and lower CO₂ emissions.

Navanit Narayan, Whole-time Director and CEO of HPL, said, “TA25 reflects our continued focus on safety, innovation, and excellence in operations. With the addition of digital technologies, we are ready for increased productivity and consistent output going forward.”

HPL, a leading player in India’s petrochemical industry, operates with an ethylene production capacity of 700,000 tonnes per annum.
