Ultraviolette Automotive, a company specializing in electric vehicles and battery technology, is set to ramp up its production capacity to support its international growth ambitions. Currently operating a pilot facility in Bengaluru with an annual capacity of 30,000 units, the company plans to significantly expand its manufacturing operations.

Narayan Subramaniam, Founder and CEO of Ultraviolette, shared, “We are planning to begin production expansion towards the end of this year.” The company is also in discussions with various state governments to establish a larger facility to accommodate its future, diversified product lineup.

“We are working towards our goal of producing over 300,000 vehicles annually by 2028. This expansion is designed with that target in mind, ensuring that the new facility can handle the company’s projected growth,” Mr Subramaniam added.

The new manufacturing site will be integral to Ultraviolette’s international growth strategy, focusing on markets such as Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, and the UK. The company is already exporting to some of these regions, and the expanded production capacity will help drive further market penetration.

With over 60,000 pre-bookings for its Tesseract model and 7,000 for the Shockwave, the company expects deliveries to be completed by the first quarter of 2026. Subramaniam also highlighted plans to establish experience centres in 50 cities by the end of 2026 to strengthen its presence.

Ultraviolette has initiated its international expansion with pilot operations in Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, and the UK. In the next phase, the company will assess opportunities in regions like Latin America and Southeast Asia, according to Mr Subramaniam. Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Bengaluru, Ultraviolette Automotive is an Indian electric mobility firm focused on designing high-performance electric motorcycles.
