Skoda Auto India has laid out an ambitious roadmap for 2025, setting the stage for substantial growth in one of its key markets outside Europe. This move marks a milestone as the company celebrates 25 years of operations in India and 130 years of automotive innovation worldwide.

During a presentation in Mumbai on June 12, 2025, Brand Director Ashish Gupta shared the company’s strategy, which revolves around four core pillars: creating a future-focused brand, enhancing customer experience with a comprehensive product lineup, broadening market reach through rapid network expansion, and introducing new initiatives to elevate the ownership experience.

As part of its plans, Skoda aims to significantly increase its footprint, expanding from its current presence in 165 cities to over 200 by the end of 2025. This expansion follows an earlier increase in customer touchpoints from 120 in 2021 to over 290 locations in 2025, with a target of 350 by the end of the year.

Skoda’s product strategy includes an “SUV for Everyone” approach, with the Kylaq, Kushaq, and Kodiaq models catering to different customer needs and price ranges. The company also intends to build on the success of the Slavia model by introducing a new global sedan.

In addition to vehicle sales, Skoda is diversifying its revenue streams by enhancing its certified pre-owned vehicle business and expanding services for government and fleet customers. The company plans to grow its presence in both corporate and rural markets as part of this broader strategy.

To improve customer satisfaction, Skoda has introduced the Skoda Supercare program, offering standard coverage for routine maintenance after two years of ownership or 30,000 kilometers, whichever comes first. The company has also expanded its warranty packages and service offerings to ensure complete peace of mind for vehicle owners.

Currently, Skoda Auto India operates in over 165 cities and offers four models: Kylaq, Slavia, Kushaq, and Kodiaq. Having been present in India since 2001, Skoda is a key player in the Volkswagen Group’s operations in the region.

The expansion strategy reflects Skoda’s global vision, aligning with the industry’s shift toward electric mobility and evolving consumer preferences. India plays a crucial role in Skoda’s growth plans as the company strengthens its position in emerging markets while maintaining its presence in traditional European markets.

Škoda Auto is navigating the new decade with confidence through its Next Level – Škoda Strategy 2030, aiming to become one of the top five best-selling automotive brands in Europe by 2030. The company plans to achieve this by expanding its presence in entry-level segments and launching additional electric models. As a key part of the Brand Group CORE—Volkswagen Group’s collective of volume brands—Škoda Auto is working collaboratively to drive growth and significantly improve operational efficiency.

The company continues to unlock growth potential in key international markets such as India, North Africa, Vietnam, and the broader ASEAN region. Its global product portfolio currently includes twelve passenger car models: Fabia, Scala, Octavia, Superb, Kamiq, Karoq, Kodiaq, Elroq, Enyaq, Enyaq Coupé, Slavia, Kylaq, and Kushaq. In 2024 alone, Škoda Auto delivered over 926,600 vehicles worldwide, further cementing its global footprint.

As a member of the Volkswagen Group for over 30 years, Škoda Auto contributes to the Group’s innovation and manufacturing leadership. It independently develops and produces key components—such as MEB battery systems, engines, and transmissions—which are also integrated into models from other Volkswagen Group brands. The company operates three manufacturing sites in the Czech Republic, with additional production capacity in China, Slovakia, India, and Ukraine through local and Group partnerships. Škoda Auto currently employs around 40,000 people globally and is active in nearly 100 markets.

Škoda Auto India, a key market for the brand, has been captivating Indian customers since 2001. The company currently offers four models in India—Kylaq, Slavia, Kushaq, and Kodiaq—and maintains a strong nationwide presence with over 280 customer touchpoints across more than 150 cities, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to the Indian market.
