Shree Cement Sets Industry Pace with Over 60% Renewable Energy Use in Operations

Shree Cement has achieved a major sustainability milestone by sourcing more than 60% of its total power requirement from renewable sources. With its renewable energy capacity expanding to 582 MW, the company is setting new benchmarks in eco-friendly cement manufacturing. The latest addition—a 60.3 MW solar power plant commissioned in Jodhpur—marks a significant step in Shree Cement’s commitment to clean energy.

The company is driving forward its climate-resilient strategy by investing heavily in solar, wind, and waste heat recovery technologies. These investments span its production units and align with its goal of reducing carbon emissions while enhancing operational reliability. Speaking on the occasion of World Environment Day, MM Rathi, Joint President – Power Management, remarked that the transition to green energy reflects Shree Cement’s long-term vision of building a sustainable and innovative enterprise.
