BMW Industries Limited, a key player in the steel services sector, has launched two new tube mills and a 1.28 MW rooftop solar power plant at its Jamshedpur facility. The ₹50 crore investment is aimed at enhancing production capacity to meet growing market demand. The installation of the rooftop solar system is designed to partially offset the facility’s energy consumption, reducing reliance on conventional power and aligning with the company’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) objectives.
The new tube mills will increase the company’s manufacturing capacity by 60,000 MT per annum, bringing the total installed capacity to approximately 600,000 MT annually. This expansion strengthens BMW Industries’ position in the market, allowing for a broader production of steel products such as MS and GI pipes, which are in high demand across various industries.
During the inauguration, Chief Guest Sanjay Surajprakash Sahni, Executive In Charge of the Tubes Division at Tata Steel, along with senior company officials, celebrated the milestone. Harsh Bansal, Managing Director of BMW Industries, expressed the company’s commitment to long-term growth, sustainability, and responsible energy usage.
“This new addition aligns with our growth strategy and supports our efforts to increase output and meet market demand. The solar installation is a significant step in our pursuit of cleaner energy sources and more sustainable manufacturing,” said Harsh Bansal.
