Nuberg EPC, a leading global EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) company based in India, has entered into a Technical Collaboration Agreement (TCA) with EDL Anlagenbau Gesellschaft mbH, a subsidiary of the Pörner Group in Germany. This partnership focuses on driving innovation and sustainable development across key sectors, including fuel oil refineries, petrochemical industries, green hydrogen derivatives, and sustainable process technologies. The collaboration aims to accelerate technological advancements while prioritizing environmental responsibility, with both companies contributing their expertise to the project.
The agreement was formalized by AK Tyagi, Chairman and Managing Director of Nuberg EPC, and Peter Sonntag, Vice President of International Business Development at EDL. The event was also attended by Shivani Chaturvedi, Director of the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce, highlighting the broader significance of this Indo-German alliance. The partnership is expected to create a meaningful impact not only in India but also in the international market, with a shared focus on delivering cutting-edge, sustainable solutions.
One of the key areas of focus for this partnership is the transformation of low-value bottom-of-the-barrel products into high-value outputs, utilizing advanced technologies. These include Solvent Deasphalting (SDA), solvent extraction of lube cuts to produce TDAE/Trae, dewaxing/deoiling, complex greasing, and the re-refining of used oils. By leveraging these technologies, the collaboration aims to significantly reduce the environmental footprint of refining processes and enhance the economic value of by-products.
Another major area of collaboration is the development of green hydrogen and its derivatives. The partnership will explore opportunities to create a sustainable future by advancing green hydrogen technology and exploring derivatives such as green ammonia, green methanol, and sustainable aviation fuels. Both companies share a vision of industrial transformation, with a strong emphasis on technological excellence and environmental stewardship.
This collaboration will also foster skill development through targeted training programs, enabling the transfer of cutting-edge technologies to the Indian market. With Nuberg EPC’s robust experience in EPC project execution and EDL’s deep knowledge in refinery and petrochemical process technologies, the partnership is well-positioned to introduce innovative solutions that address both global and local needs. The partnership combines Nuberg’s strong presence in emerging markets with EDL’s pioneering technologies in sustainable process engineering, creating a powerful synergy for the future.
AK Tyagi, Founder and CMD of Nuberg EPC, emphasized the strategic nature of this partnership, stating, “We are committed to securing collaborations that focus on efficiency and effectiveness. This alliance represents a significant opportunity to set new benchmarks in the industry with our shared commitment to delivering innovative, sustainable engineering solutions. We believe it will drive transformative outcomes across the sectors we serve.”
Daniel Oryan, CEO of EDL, also expressed optimism about the collaboration, saying, “This agreement marks a pivotal moment in both our companies’ history. We are excited to begin implementing the first projects under this strategic partnership, and we are grateful for the trust our partners have placed in us.”
