Tenneco, a global leader in automotive technology and components, has announced the appointment of Arvind Chandra as Chief Executive Officer of Tenneco India. In this role, Chandra will oversee the company’s operations across its Clean Air, Monroe Ride Solutions (MRS), Champion Ignition, and Powertrain (Bearings and Sealings) businesses in India. His leadership is expected to guide the next phase of Tenneco’s strategic growth in one of its key global markets.
Chandra brings extensive experience in the automotive industry, having held senior executive roles at Delphi, Wabco, Faurecia (now Forvia), and Minda Corporation. Most recently, he served as CEO for Aliaxis Group in India. His expertise spans manufacturing, engineering, marketing, sales, and international business development, as well as executive leadership across multiple global markets.
Jim Voss, Chief Executive Officer of Tenneco, stated that India remains a vital growth region for the company. He expressed confidence that Chandra’s leadership, international experience, and in-depth knowledge of the Indian automotive landscape will drive further expansion, enhance innovation, and increase value delivery to customers and partners across the region.
Rishi Verma, President of Tenneco India, will continue to lead day-to-day operations and will report directly to Chandra. The current leadership structure under Verma will remain unchanged. Verma’s responsibilities will also expand to include oversight of the pistons, rings, valve seats, and guides (VSG) business within the Powertrain division.
Under the leadership of Chandra, Tenneco India is poised to pursue a focused strategy aimed at accelerating business growth and enhancing its partnerships with both domestic and international customers. This strategic direction emphasizes deepening customer relationships and expanding market presence, reinforcing Tenneco’s position as a trusted and agile player in the automotive industry.
