To mark Earth Day, Tata Power launched a week of environmental activities through its EcoCrewprogramme in cities across Uttar Pradesh. More than 5,000 students from 12 schools in Mathura, Prayagraj, and Varanasi took part in workshops and interactive sessions aimed at promoting sustainable practices and environmental awareness.
The activities were held under the Earth Day theme, “Our Power, Our Planet,” and encouraged students to reflect on their role in protecting natural resources. As part of the company’s Club Enerji initiative—one of India’s largest school-based environmental education programmes—the events focused on key topics like climate change, energy efficiency, and the importance of renewable energy sources such as solar power.
Over the years, EcoCrew has reached more than 430 schools, helping build awareness and interest in sustainability among young people. This year’s Earth Day activities continued that mission, combining education with creative engagement.
One of the highlights of the programme was the “Eco Pledge Ceremony,” where students from participating schools took part in the “Bano Nature ke BFF” activity, pledging to adopt eco-conscious habits in their daily lives. In another event called “Globey Imprint Activity,” students created a canvas artwork representing the Earth using green and blue handprints, symbolizing their collective promise to care for the planet.
The Earth Day events are part of a larger effort by Tata Power to reach over 1,000 schools across 24 cities in Uttar Pradesh. The company aims to involve more than 500,000 students in environmental education as part of its long-term sustainability goals.
Tata Power’s broader vision, through campaigns like ‘Sustainable is Attainable’ and Club Enerji, is to support India’s shift toward cleaner energy while encouraging individuals and communities to take part in building a more sustainable future.
