Belkin, a global consumer electronics brand with a 40-year legacy, has released its 2024 Impact Report, announcing that the company has reached carbon neutrality across its Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions. This achievement marks a major step forward in Belkin’s long-term sustainability strategy and reinforces its commitment to responsible manufacturing and environmental stewardship.
“As we celebrate surpassing one billion products sold globally, we’re reminded that growth brings responsibility,” said Steven Malony, CEO of Belkin. “Our 2024 Impact Report reflects both our accomplishments and our ongoing efforts to create a more sustainable future. From shifting to recycled materials and eliminating plastic in our packaging, to aiming for full carbon neutrality across all operations by 2030—this journey is about building smarter and more responsibly for the planet and the people who rely on our products.”
Belkin’s 2024 sustainability efforts have focused on climate action and sustainable consumption, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In terms of climate action (UN SDG 13), Belkin achieved carbon neutrality in its direct operations and purchased electricity (Scope 1 and Scope 2). Additionally, through enhanced product design and improvements in its supply chain, the company reduced its carbon emissions by 1,890 metric tons of CO₂e (Scope 3), demonstrating a strong commitment to reducing its environmental impact.
Belkin has made significant strides in promoting sustainable consumption and production (UN SDG 12). The company surpassed its 2025 target by achieving an 89% reduction in single-use plastic packaging. Furthermore, it replaced 210 metric tons of virgin plastic with post-consumer recycled (PCR) alternatives in 8.8 million products, contributing to a more circular economy. Since 2019, Belkin’s cumulative plastic savings reached 2,183 metric tons, which is equivalent to eliminating over 114 million water bottles from the environment.
In addition to these efforts, Belkin has contributed significantly to the responsible recycling of various materials. The company supported the recycling of 28,445 metric tons of electronics, 11,463 metric tons of packaging, and 1,358 metric tons of batteries, furthering its commitment to environmental sustainability and waste reduction. These actions reflect Belkin’s dedication to creating a more sustainable future through tangible, measurable efforts across multiple areas of its business.
Belkin continues to expand the use of PCR materials, having converted over 359 products and replaced 432 metric tons of virgin plastic. This year, several popular charging and connectivity products will transition to casings made from 85–90% PCR materials, certified by the Global Recycling Standard. This update is expected to cut CO₂-equivalent emissions for these components by as much as 85%.
Belkin’s efforts have been recognized with a Silver Medal from EcoVadis, placing the company in the top 15% of consumer electronics firms rated by the global sustainability platform. Belkin remains focused on achieving full carbon neutrality across all scopes by 2030. The company continues to invest in circular design, sustainable material sourcing, and low-impact packaging—without sacrificing performance, reliability, or user experience.
