UltraTech Cement Limited, the flagship company of the Aditya Birla Group, announced on March 27 that it has completed several brownfield expansions across India to strengthen its production capabilities. The company has successfully commissioned a 3.35 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) clinker capacity along with one of two cement mills (2.7 MTPA) at its Maihar unit in Madhya Pradesh. The second grinding mill is expected to be operational by the first quarter of FY26.
In addition to the Maihar expansion, UltraTech has completed brownfield expansions of its grinding units in Dhule, Maharashtra (1.2 MTPA) and Durgapur, West Bengal (0.6 MTPA). The company also launched its first bulk terminal in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, with a handling capacity of 1.8 MTPA. These projects further solidify UltraTech’s position in the cement manufacturing sector.
As a result of these expansions, UltraTech’s total domestic grey cement manufacturing capacity has reached 183.36 MTPA. With its global operations included, the company’s total cement production capacity now stands at 188.76 MTPA, marking a significant milestone in its growth and expansion strategy.
