Sandvik has announced the acquisition of Barefoot CNC, CAD/CAM Solutions, and CamTech Engineering Services, marking important milestones in Mastercam ongoing efforts to shape the future of manufacturing. Additionally, Sandvik has acquired CIMCO’s probing technology and post processor business, which is a valuable software add-on for CAD/CAM systems. This technology enables CNC touch probes to measure and position workpieces before machining, improving part quality and reducing setup times.
Barefoot CNC, serving North and South Carolina for over 30 years, CAD/CAM Solutions, a trusted partner in Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee, and CamTech Engineering Services, known for providing top-notch solutions in Florida, will all be integrated into Mastercam. This strengthens regional support and enhances Mastercam’s commitment to offering superior CAD/CAM solutions.
“Integrating Barefoot CNC, CAD/CAM Solutions, and CamTech Engineering Services into the Mastercam family enhances our ability to support manufacturers across the Southeastern U.S. with exceptional service and cutting-edge CAD/CAM solutions,” said Russ Bukowski, Interim President of Mastercam. “These acquisitions deepen our relationships with customers in the region, ensuring their success in a constantly evolving manufacturing environment.”
Mastercam’s growth strategy focuses on a mix of internal advancements and strategic acquisitions to enhance its capabilities and deliver leading-edge solutions. As part of the Sandvik group, Mastercam continues to empower global manufacturers with advanced technologies, connected workflows, and exceptional support.
The acquisition of CIMCO’s probing technology and post processor business further enriches Mastercam’s suite of tools, offering customers a fully integrated, seamless experience. This technology, which has already been used by machinists as a software add-on to Mastercam, will now be rebranded as Mastercam Probing. “The integration of CIMCO’s probing technology as Mastercam Probing elevates the unified experience we offer, ensuring manufacturers have access to the most advanced, fully integrated tools to stay competitive,” said Bukowski.
