CIL Subsidiaries Partner with Sri Sathya Sai Health & Education Trust for Life-Saving Heart Surgeries under ‘Nanha Sa Dil’ Initiative

On Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Day, Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) and Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), subsidiaries of Coal India Limited (CIL), joined forces with the Sri Sathya Sai Health & Education Trust (SSSHET) to provide life-saving surgeries for children with Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) through the ‘Nanha Sa Dil’ initiative. The Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed in a ceremony held at Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi, in the presence of key figures including Secretary (Coal) Shri Vikram Dev Dutt, MoC officials Rupinder Brar, Ms. antosh, and Dr. C. Sreenivas, and Chairman of SSSHET.

The MoUs were signed by Shri SS Lal, GM (CSR) at CCL, and Shri Rajeev Ranjan, GM (CSR) at NCL, while Shri Vivek Gour, Trustee, represented SSSHET. This collaboration is part of CIL’s ongoing commitment to enhancing India’s healthcare system through its CSR initiatives, particularly in underserved areas around its operations.

During the event, Shri Vikram Dev Dutt commended the initiative, highlighting that it would create lasting goodwill for CIL and its subsidiaries. He emphasized the company’s ongoing dedication to impactful CSR projects that promote inclusive and sustainable growth, particularly in mining regions.

Nanha Sa Dil is a pioneering CSR program by CIL in collaboration with SSSHET, aiming to provide pediatric cardiac care. Under this initiative, CCL will conduct screenings for 45,000 children in Jharkhand, with plans to perform surgeries on 500 children diagnosed with CHD. NCL will organize 345 screening camps for 17,250 children, directing those in need to NCL’s diagnostic centre at Bina Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
