The third edition of Vitafoods India, organized by Informa Markets, began today at the Jio World Convention Center in Mumbai. Running from February 5-7, 2025, this event serves as a leading platform for India’s booming nutraceutical market. The event hosts 136 local and 23 international exhibitors, with over 35 industry experts sharing their knowledge on the latest trends and developments. It brings together a wide range of professionals, including distributors, product developers, R&D experts, and regulatory specialists.

Anticipated to attract over 8,000 visitors over the next three days, Vitafoods India 2025 continues to strengthen its role as a hub for networking and knowledge exchange within the nutraceutical industry. With projections showing India’s nutritional supplements market reaching USD 68.42 billion by 2030 at an annual growth rate of 8%, this event is a key opportunity to explore innovations that are shaping the future of health and wellness.

Dr Subrata Gupta emphasized the massive potential of India’s share in the global nutrition market, particularly in Ayurveda-based nutraceuticals. Dr Manoj Nesari spoke about the substantial growth of the Ayurveda and nutraceutical sector, which has seen an impressive increase in value from $3 billion in 2014 to $24 billion today, with expectations of reaching $200 billion in the next decade. He noted that the integration of Ayurvedic Aahar into the sector could significantly enhance global health solutions.

Salman Mehkri of Bio-gen Extracts discussed the rapid expansion of India’s nutraceutical industry, valued at $5-6 billion, with a projected growth rate of 12-13%. He highlighted how innovations like a vegan-based Omega-3 supplement and a Curcumin-Thymoquinone complex are contributing to the industry’s growth.

Dr Meenakshi Singh from CSIR emphasized the vast potential of India’s botanicals and traditional knowledge in the nutraceutical sector. She noted the collaborative efforts of CSIR and industry leaders to address challenges like export tracking and regulatory clarity, aiming to position the sector for growth both domestically and internationally.

Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director of Informa Markets in India, spoke about the transformative potential of the nutraceutical and dietary supplements industry. He highlighted key trends, including a growing demand for personalized health solutions and the increasing importance of regulatory compliance and digital health integration.
