Safex Chemicals India Ltd has been honored with the Outstanding Innovation: Chemical Synthesis Award at the 6th Pesticides Manufacturers & Formulators Association of India (PMFAI) Annual AgChem Awards 2025, held in Dubai. The award recognizes Safex Group’s pioneering work in developing Renofluthrin, a next-generation mosquito control solution. This accolade highlights the company’s dedication to indigenous research, sustainability, and its drive to compete on a global scale.

Renofluthrin, a synthetic pyrethroid molecule, addresses the growing issue of mosquito-borne diseases, particularly in tropical regions like India. The product, developed entirely in-house, is noted for its high effectiveness and versatility, including being the world’s first patented mosquito control solution in an Agarbatti format.

Commenting on the achievement, Neeraj Jindal, Managing Director of Safex Chemicals, shared, “Developing Renofluthrin was a challenging journey as we were one of the first Indian companies to register a homegrown research molecule. Our commitment to the product’s potential has led to a solution that is now gaining international recognition, with global registrations underway.”

Shogun Organics, a Safex Group subsidiary, initiated the Renofluthrin project ten years ago with a vision of self-reliance and tackling global mosquito control challenges. The development process involved extensive research in chemistry, entomology, and toxicology, with collaboration from leading institutes and adherence to stringent regulatory standards. This dedication resulted in a product that is not only effective but also safe and adaptable.

Since its founding in 1991, Safex Chemicals has grown rapidly in the chemical sector, achieving a revenue compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of over 25% in the last five years. The company further expanded internationally in October 2022 by acquiring Briar Chemicals, a prominent agrochemicals CDMO in the UK. Safex Chemicals now operates seven manufacturing units across India and the UK, reinforcing its strong production and global presence. This continued growth solidifies Safex’s position within the global value chain.
