Users may upload, distribute, and manage Eplan Platform projects on the cloud using the free version of eManage. Eplan, a solutions provider, is now demonstrating the full version of the software, which provides significantly more value: master data and supplementary documents can both be accessed in the cloud, and performance is improved with extra capacity. The application, which connects OEMs, system integrators, machine builders, and operators, is built on collaboration.

Since the release of the new Eplan Platform 2022 in September, the full version of eManage has been available. This revolutionary cloud software’s fee-based expansion stage provides the first steps toward roundtrip-enabled engineering in automation.

When a project is shared in the cloud, the schemat-ics are visible, but not all of the documentation is. In this regard, the full edition of Eplan eManage adds value. Stakeholders in the project are given access to all necessary data and paperwork, including bills of materials and impartial Excel documents. With a common data foundation, these become interchangeable.

“The entire picture of client requirements and project requirements provides better openness for all parties engaged in building a machine or plant system,” says Eplan Head of Engineering Solutions Claas Schreibmüller. Appropriate rights management allows for exact control of data access.

Many individuals work from home these days, and here is where users frequently run into system limitations: while they may be able to access a project, they frequently cannot access the master data that is set as a company standard for design projects. Eplan eManage now allows for the exchange of system-relevant master data that can be quickly retrieved and transported as needed using the “pack & go” principle. As a result, project managers may quickly make master data centrally accessible.

In a nutshell, Schreibmüller states, “All important master data may be accessed and does not have to be laboriously transferred wherever the user works.”

Project partners are frequently faced with the difficulty of using multiple versions of Eplan software due to version constraints in supplier specifications or requests for proposals. Projects from the Eplan Platform 2022, for example, can be saved in the new version of eManage to be backwards compatible with, say, Version 2.9. This eliminates the need to maintain several versions of the Eplan software while remaining compliant with contract restrictions, streamlining the entire supplier workflow.

Users who have downloaded the free version of eManage have had access to 10 gigabytes of storage space on the Eplan Cloud. This capacity increases by an extra 10 gigabytes for each “seat” in the company with the full version, and this additional storage space is available to everyone. There’s another benefit that pays off for companies with improved performance: the additional cloud storage is more than simply storage space; it’s also an active collaborative environment. This also ensures the best possible environment for cross-national collaboration.

Users of Eplan software who switch to a subscription and use the Conversion Package get automatic access to the full version of eManage.
