Hero MotoCorp announced major changes to its leadership team and organizational structure on Friday, including the appointment of Vikram Kasbekar as the acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) following the decision of Niranjan Gupta to step down after eight years with the company.
The country’s leading two-wheeler manufacturer also revealed the formation of a separate EV & Emerging Mobility Business Unit (EMBU), which will operate independently moving forward.Gupta, who will officially leave on April 30, 2025, has played a key role in strengthening Hero MotoCorp’s financial position and forming strategic global partnerships.
Kasbekar, who is currently the Executive Director of Operations, will take on the role of acting CEO starting May 1, 2025, and will guide the company through this transition. Hero MotoCorp’s Executive Chairman, Pawan Munjal, praised Gupta for his leadership in shaping the company’s growth and future direction.
As part of the restructuring, Ram Kuppuswamy, the Chief Procurement Officer, will take on an expanded role as Chief Operations Officer (COO) for Manufacturing, starting April 1, 2025. He will focus on optimizing the manufacturing and supplier operations to align with the company’s growth strategy.
Additionally, Ashutosh Varma, the National Sales Head for the India Business Unit, has been promoted to Chief Business Officer (CBO) for the India Business Unit, effective May 1, 2025. He will succeed Ranjivjit Singh, who will complete his tenure with the company at the end of April.
Hero MotoCorp also announced the promotion of Jyoti Singh to Deputy Chief Human Resources Officer, effective February 1, 2025. The company also emphasized the strategic importance of its new EV & Emerging Mobility Business Unit, which will operate independently and be guided by Munjal. The unit will work closely with Hero’s product development teams in Germany and India to align on future innovation.
