B&R Industrial Automation has introduced a gate measurement module to its offering with the addition of a new bus controller for effective monitoring of machinery and processes. The new gate measurement module joins the X67 series to aid in the consistency of production processes and the reduction of rejection rates, thereby improving both quality and productivity.
With the Bus Controller, the new gate measurement module by B&R Automation can detect even the tiniest deviations in switching operations by measuring the duration of switching operations with extreme precision. These deviations can indicate component wear, temperature changes, or other environmental factors.
This allows for the automatic adjustment of deviations from expected switching times as well as the deployment of predictive maintenance procedures. Unexpected machine downtime and quality fluctuations can be reliably avoided.
The IP67-rated module can withstand the harshest environments. It features six readable digital outputs and six readable digital inputs. The digital channels can be arranged in pairs to perform gate measurement directly on the module with a resolution of 100s. On positive or negative edges, gate measurement can be activated.
The gadget also offers an analogue input with filter functions that can be customised. It has overload and short-circuits protection on its digital outputs. POWERLINK connects the module to the machine network.
