The Telangana government announced on Wednesday that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with JSW UAV Limited, a subsidiary of JSW Defence, to establish a cutting-edge Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) manufacturing facility in the state. The initiative will see JSW UAV partner with a top US-based defence tech firm and invest nearly Rs 800 crore into the project, according to an official statement. This move is anticipated to create over 200 high-skilled jobs and strengthen Telangana’s status as a leader in technology and defence innovation.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, who signed the MoU in Davos, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “With clear vision and dedicated efforts, we are positioning Telangana as a top destination for investments in diverse sectors such as semiconductors, defence, private space, and FMCG. Our commitment to making Telangana the preferred choice for global businesses, especially as part of the China Plus One strategy, is already showing positive results.”
Telangana Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu also welcomed the agreement, stating, “This partnership will set a new trend in the sector. We are committed to making our state India’s leading manufacturing hub.”
