Runaya, a metal recycling startup owned by Vedanta Group’s promoters, has partnered with Germany-based ECKART to establish a new aluminium powder facility in Odisha. The new plant will produce sustainable spherical atomised aluminium granules, catering to high-demand sectors such as aerospace, solar panels, and high-value effect pigments, both in India and globally.
The joint venture will focus on utilizing recycled aluminium and renewable energy sources for production, positioning the facility to serve both Indian and international markets as a hub for low-cost, high-quality manufacturing solutions. Runaya and ECKART have also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to manufacture premium aluminium pigments, further enhancing their partnership’s reach.
“This collaboration marks a significant step towards a circular economy and sets new global benchmarks for sustainable manufacturing,” said Naivedya Agarwal, Managing Director of Runaya. “By transforming the aluminium recycling sector, we’re demonstrating the power of global alliances in addressing environmental challenges and redefining the aluminium powder segment for a greener future.”
