From a Small Operation in 1983 to work globally in Automation Solutions, transforming Small Part Feeding, Boosting Productivity by 30%, and Exporting Made in India products to Over 60 Countries with Precision and Innovation. Elscint India Pvt Ltd, founded in 1983 by late Suhas Shete, one of the pioneers in providing automation solutions, specializing in the handling and feeding of small parts across various industries.

Monish Shete, the son of Suhas Shete, joined the company in 2000, has witnessed tremendous growth over the past 24 years, including expanding their operations to an international scale. The company began as a small operation with just five employees. Over the years, it has evolved into a global leader in the manufacturing of vibratory feeders and other automation equipment.

The company’s primary product line includes vibratory feeders, which play a crucial role in the automation of small parts. These feeders, along with other specialized products like linear feeders, rotary or centrifugal feeders, are used for the handling and feeding of small components across various industries. Whether it’s bottle caps, automobile components, watch parts, or pen industry products, Elscint India provides an automation solution that helps increase productivity and quality. Today, they export nearly 30% of its turnover to over 60 countries, with a steady increase in this number year by year.

Automation for Increased Productivity

Elscint India’s mission is to help customers automate their operations, particularly for small part feeding. According to Mr Shete, automating this process offers clear advantages over manual labor, which is both monotonous and low-skill. Automated feeding systems, on average, increase productivity by 30%, simply because machines don’t take breaks or require downtime. The result is not only increased output but also improved consistency and quality, making automation a key driver for companies striving to stay competitive in their respective industries.

The journey hasn’t always been easy. In the early days, convincing businesses to embrace automation was a challenge. Many companies still relied on manual labor, seeing it as a more cost-effective option. However, Monish Shete also noted that by the early 2000s, the perception of automation began to shift. Companies began realizing that automation not only reduces the reliance on human labor but also solves numerous operational challenges, including inconsistent output and quality.

As companies saw the long-term value and ROI of automated systems, the demand for automation solutions grew. Today, businesses are far more receptive to adopting automation technologies, making it easier for Elscint India to establish its presence in both domestic and international markets.

The Global Advantage of Made-in-India Solution

Elscint India’s goal is to increase its exports to 50% in the next few years. Their success in export markets can be attributed to the high quality of its products and the cost-effectiveness of manufacturing in India. As Mr Shete explained, Indian products are now seen as being on par with European and U.S. products in terms of performance and quality, though they may come at a slightly lower price point.

Customers, especially from Europe and the US, also appreciate the transparency in pricing and shipping that Elscint India Pvt Ltd offers. The company ensures that international clients know their exact landing cost, which includes all duties and shipping fees. This transparency eliminates hidden costs that are often associated with importing from other countries, such as Malaysia or China.

Monish also shared the impact of India’s “Made in India” initiative, which has helped improve the global perception of Indian products. Today, buyers are more willing to purchase from India, confident in the quality and reliability of Indian-made products. This shift has been particularly advantageous for companies like Elscint India, which are working hard to maintain global competitiveness.

As for the future, the company is focused on expanding its footprint in international markets while continuing to innovate its product offerings. With the goal of increasing its export share to 50% of total sales, the company aims to build upon its reputation as a reliable and high-quality provider of automation solutions.

With a workforce of 35 employees and a turnover of 12 crores, including 4 crores in export sales, Elscint India is poised for even more growth. Mr Shete is confident that by continuing to innovate and meet the needs of businesses in various industries, the company will achieve its ambitious growth targets in the coming years.

Elscint India Pvt Ltd stands as an example to the power of automation in driving productivity and innovation across industries. With its global reach and focus on quality, the company is well-positioned to lead the way in providing advanced automation solutions for small part handling.
