At Bauma Conexpo 2024 India, JK Tyre & Industries unveiled its latest range of advanced Off-the-Road (OTR) tyres designed specifically for the mining industry. The new models include the 17.5-25 VEM 63 L5 for wheel loaders, 16.00-25 VEM 99D E3 for wide-body dump trucks, 12.00-24 VEM SMOOTH L5S for load haul dumpers, 300-15 JET LIFT for forklifts, and 10/75-15.3 MPT117 for self-loading concrete mixers.
These tyres are engineered to provide enhanced durability and superior performance in demanding mining environments. The launch was spearheaded by Anuj Kathuria, President (India) of JK Tyre & Industries, and Debasis Khuntia, Head of OTR at the company.
JK Tyre has been a leader in integrating smart tyre technologies, including the Treel system (tyre pressure and temperature monitoring), which was also showcased at the event. These innovations aim to boost operational efficiency for heavy-duty mining machinery, aligning with JK Tyre’s commitment to smart mobility solutions for the construction and mining industries.
Anuj Kathuria, President (India) of JK Tyre & Industries, stated, “JK Tyre continues to drive innovation in the OTR tyre sector, offering robust solutions that enhance productivity in challenging environments. Our latest OTR tyres are designed to withstand tough conditions, delivering superior durability and efficiency for mining machinery. We are dedicated to advancing tyre technology and setting new industry standards.”
The new tyres incorporate advanced features tailored to meet the rigorous demands of the mining sector. The VEM 63 (L5 Pattern) tyre features an extra-deep tread design for extended service life, reinforced sidewall protection, broad lugs for stability, and a tough nylon casing to handle heavy loads. The VEM 99D (E3 Pattern) tyre offers a chevron pattern to enhance heat dissipation and cut resistance, ensuring superior handling and durability.
The VEM SMOOTH L5S tyre ensures long tread life, stability, and high load capacity in harsh mining conditions. The JET LIFT tyre provides excellent stability, wear resistance, and a silica-based compound for durability, while the MPT 117 tyre offers enhanced mileage and load capacity for both on-road and off-road operations.
