Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL), a prominent City Gas Distribution (CGD) company in India, has joined forces with Nawgati, a homegrown fuel aggregator startup, to drive CNG adoption through the MGL CNG Mahotsav 2.0. This collaboration aims to incentivize fleet operators to transition to CNG and make the shift to this eco-friendly fuel more convenient.
As part of this initiative, fleet operators will be able to use the MGL Fuel Card for CNG refueling, with Nawgati managing the redemption of these cards for free CNG at designated MGL stations across Mumbai, Thane, and Raigad during the event. Nawgati will also launch a fleet program to encourage the adoption of CNG vehicles, offering incentives to fleet operators who purchase new commercial CNG vehicles or retrofit their existing vehicles. This program aims to reduce reliance on petrol and diesel by rewarding operators based on vehicle type and tonnage.
The Nawgati digital platform will streamline refueling for fleet operators. Through the MGL Fleet Platform, they can easily register, create accounts, manage vehicles and drivers, and handle refueling operations at participating MGL stations. Fleet operators can make payments using the MGL Fuel Card either physically or through digital options available via the MGL Connect or NawgatiFuelling apps. These fuel cards can be used at various MGL CNG stations, including select BEST bus depots in Ghatkopar and Goregaon.
