Bharat Dynamics announced its Q2 results for 2024 on November 16, revealing a 16.7% decrease in profits and an 11.54% drop in revenue compared to the same period last year. The company’s profit for the quarter stood at ₹122.53 crore, while revenue totaled ₹544.77 crore.

Despite the year-over-year decline, the company saw a strong recovery compared to the previous quarter, with revenue surging by 184.97% and profit skyrocketing by 1597.98%. This signals a positive rebound from the lows of the prior quarter.

The company’s SG&A (Selling, General, and Administrative) expenses decreased slightly by 3.51% from the previous quarter, but rose by 9.86% year-over-year, reflecting ongoing cost management challenges. Operating income showed a robust increase of 219.38% compared to the last quarter, although it fell by 30.39% on a yearly basis, indicating a partial recovery but not yet a return to peak performance.

Earnings per Share (EPS) for Q2 was ₹3.34, representing a significant 58.41% drop year-over-year, underscoring the difficulties in sustaining profitability. In terms of stock performance, Bharat Dynamics saw an 8.13% drop in value over the past week and a 4.37% decrease over the last six months. However, the company has achieved a positive year-to-date return of 15.58%. Its current market capitalization stands at ₹36,273.19 crore, with a 52-week high of ₹1794.7 and a low of ₹541.52.
