Climaveneta Climate Technologies, a subsidiary of the Japanese multinational Mitsubishi Electric, is investing over ₹400 crore in a new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility located in Narsapura, Kolar district, around 50 kilometers from Bengaluru. The facility will specialize in producing high-efficiency cooling systems, including precision air-conditioning units and data center cooling solutions. The company aims to double its annual order intake in the next five years, with current bookings already exceeding ₹500 crore.
Climaveneta, India’s fastest-growing producer of chillers and market leader in co-location data center chillers, will also serve as a key export hub for cooling systems in neighboring regions. The plant will manufacture a range of products, including Screw Chillers, Magnetic Levitation Technology Chillers, Scroll Chillers, Centrifugal Chillers, High Precision Air Conditioning units, and Heat Pumps for HVAC applications. These systems will serve major sectors across India, including data centers, multinational hotel chains, healthcare institutions, malls, commercial developments, and industrial applications.
Mr Anil Dev, CEO of Climaveneta Climate Technologies, India, emphasized the importance of reliable cooling solutions in supporting the country’s growing digital infrastructure. “India’s digital transformation, driven by cloud computing, AI, and e-commerce, is fueling the need for advanced data centers. Our energy-efficient, sustainable cooling systems ensure optimal environments for data centers, commercial buildings, healthcare facilities, and manufacturing units, while also offering intelligent automation for plant optimization.”
The data center market in India is expanding rapidly, with major clusters in West India (Navi Mumbai), Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, and Kolkata. Climaveneta India is at the forefront of this growth, providing highly efficient HVAC products and innovative solutions tailored to India’s specific needs.
“Bengaluru is an ideal location for our new facility, thanks to its skilled workforce, established industrial base, and supportive government policies. This new plant will create approximately 500 jobs and help us manufacture a variety of air conditioning equipment for both the domestic and international markets,” added Anil Dev.
HVAC systems play a significant role in energy consumption and operational costs of buildings, and Climaveneta’s products are designed to reduce these costs by enhancing energy efficiency. Their advanced monitoring and diagnostic systems continuously track environmental conditions and operational performance, providing real-time alerts to ensure system reliability and prevent breakdowns.
Mr Masafumi Ando, CEO of Mitsubishi Electric Hydronic and IT Cooling S.p.A, highlighted Climaveneta India’s contribution to the group’s global carbon neutrality goals. “The rapid industrial and environmental changes in India present an opportunity for Climaveneta India to provide energy-efficient, environmentally friendly cooling solutions. Our products help eliminate ozone depletion and contribute to energy savings, which is vital as more countries phase out refrigerants that contribute to global warming.”
Atsushi Takase, Managing Director of Mitsubishi Electric India, added, “Mitsubishi Electric plans to increase investment in the region, with Bengaluru serving as a hub for our expanding operations. The city’s skilled labor force and thriving technology sector make it an attractive location for our manufacturing facilities.”
In addition to Climaveneta India, Mitsubishi Electric Group already operates two other companies in the Karnataka region: Mitsubishi Elevator India Private Limited (IMEC) and Toshiba Mitsubishi-Electric Industrial Systems Corporation (TMEIC), which produce elevators, escalators, and UPS solutions, respectively.
Climaveneta Climate Technologies is part of Mitsubishi Electric Hydronic and IT Cooling S.p.A, a leading manufacturer of commercial air conditioning systems. With a focus on energy-saving solutions, Climaveneta provides innovative, sustainable products for a range of applications, including data centers, process cooling, commercial buildings, and healthcare facilities.
