Titagarh Rail Systems Ltd (TRSL), India’s leading wagon manufacturer, announced a 14.3% year-on-year (YoY) rise in net profit to ₹80.7 crore for the second quarter ending September 30, 2024. This compares with a net profit of ₹70.6 crore in the same quarter last year, as reported in the company’s regulatory filing. Revenue from operations increased by 13% YoY, reaching ₹1,057 crore, up from ₹935.5 crore in the previous fiscal period.
Operating results showed a 12.4% rise in EBITDA, amounting to ₹129.5 crore for Q2 FY25, compared to ₹115.2 crore in the same period last year. The EBITDA margin held steady at 12.3%. EBITDA, which stands for earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortization, reflects the company’s core operating performance.
As of September 30, Titagarh Rail’s order book reached ₹12,207 crore, with 56.1% allocated to passenger rolling stock and 43.9% to freight rolling stock. Orders through joint ventures totaled ₹13,326 crore. In a presentation on Saturday, the company informed investors of its plans to increase rolling stock production capacity from the current 300 units per year to 1,200 units by FY28, enabling the manufacture of various passenger coach types, including those made of aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel.
