In this strategic partnership, Jindal Stainless has supplied a substantial 2.2 metric tonnes of JT stainless steel for each container. This innovative approach replaces the conventional carbon steel used in the sidewalls, end walls, and roof of the containers, thereby enhancing their overall performance and sustainability.
The containers produced through this collaboration are constructed using high-strength JT grade stainless steel, which is recognized as N7 under the BIS 6991 specifications. This premium material is specifically chosen for its superior properties, making it ideal for the demanding requirements of transportation. These containers are designed to accommodate a wide range of goods, including polymers, batteries, and rubber, reflecting the versatility and practicality of this new solution.
Furthermore, the underframes of the containers are crafted from customized stainless steel tubes. This thoughtful design choice has led to a significant reduction in the overall weight of the containers, dropping by approximately 500 kilograms. Additionally, the company developed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to guide the manufacturing process and provided comprehensive training to the fabrication team at CJ Darcl’s approved vendor, Kamal Coach Works, located in Jaipur.
