Honeywell (Nasdaq: HON) has announced its collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. to create an AI-powered Multi-Modal Intelligent Agent for Honeywell’s mobile devices. This new solution is designed to enable workers and customers in industries like distribution and retail to interact with their handheld devices using voice, images, and barcodes.
The AI-enabled agent will serve as a digital assistant for today’s workforce, helping users access information quickly and efficiently, leading to increased accuracy and reduced time spent on tasks. This development also aligns with it’s focus on automation, one of the key trends shaping its business strategy.
With this technology, workers can input queries such as “Is the gluten-free version of this product in stock?” or “Where is this item located?” and receive responses in various formats including text, audio, images, or a combination of these. This functionality allows users to multitask, whether they’re assisting customers or managing workflows in a warehouse. The solution will be available to businesses through a software development kit (SDK) that can integrate with their current systems.
Nakul Duggal, General Manager at Qualcomm Technologies, emphasized the importance of leveraging AI to enhance connectivity and operational efficiency, highlighting this collaboration as a significant step in advancing digital transformation across industries.
Jason Urso, Chief Technology Officer of Honeywell Industrial Automation, noted that combining Honeywell’s user-friendly devices with Qualcomm’s AI technology will simplify tasks for workers while helping businesses deliver a better customer experience.
