Bosch and Pirelli have entered a joint development agreement to create innovative software and driving solutions using sensors integrated into tyres, known as in-tyre sensors. This collaboration aims to enhance safety, comfort, and driving performance for users. Both companies are committed to a long-term partnership and will explore advanced tyre signal processing for improved vehicle dynamic control.

Pirelli’s Cyber Tyre system, which integrates sensors within the tyres to relay real-time data to the vehicle, is the first of its kind. Bosch has previously adapted its ESP application to Pirelli tyres in collaboration with Pagani Automobili, enhancing tyre performance and safety in the Pagani Utopia Roadster.

Bosch will bring its expertise in system-level hardware, software, and MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) sensor technology, including tyre pressure sensors using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). Combining this with Pirelli’s in-tyre technology will enable the collection, processing, and transmission of real-time tyre data, providing valuable inputs for the vehicle’s electronic control systems.
