Ashok Leyland, a leading name in commercial vehicles, introduced its new GARUD 15M bus chassis at the Prawaas 4.0 event in Bengaluru on Thursday. The unveiling took place during an event organized by the Bus & Car Operators Confederation of India (BOCI).
The GARUD 15M, touted as India’s first front-engine multi-axle bus chassis, aims to revolutionize long-distance intercity travel with its innovative design. Featuring the largest saloon space available in Indian buses and a capacity for 42 sleeper berths, it is engineered to optimize revenue per trip for operators.

The GARUD 15M features modern advancements including front wheel disc brakes, an electromagnetic retarder, and an optional full air suspension with an anti-roll bar. It also boasts an ergonomically designed 3-way adjustable driver seat and an air-assisted hydraulic clutch with a cable shift gear mechanism to enhance driving comfort. The commercial launch of the GARUD 15M is planned for the fourth quarter of FY25.
