Fair Friend Group (FFG) has announced a significant strategic overhaul to address the evolving challenges in the global machine tool industry and enhance its competitive edge. This initiative will be highlighted at the upcoming International Exhibition for Metalworking (AMB) 2024, where FFG will showcase its renewed focus on innovation, efficiency, and global expansion under the theme “Let’s Start the Journey.”

As a key part of this transformation, Fair Friend Group has appointed Dr. Sebastian Schöning as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Dr. Schöning, who holds a PhD in mechanical engineering, has over two decades of experience in professional and management roles.

He has been with the group since 2021, serving as Chief Operating Officer and CEO of MAG IAS GmbH. In his new position, Dr. Schöning will lead the development of global strategies and oversee the group’s operations. He will be supported by Ms Rong-Rong Liu, who has been named Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and will manage the group’s financial operations.

A central aspect of this strategic shift is the increased integration of synergies across Fair Friend Group’s global companies. This approach will allow FFG to offer more comprehensive and tailored solutions to its customers.

Additionally, the group plans to broaden its portfolio of standard machines and explore new technologies in emerging sectors like humanoid robotics and energy. By incorporating artificial intelligence, smart manufacturing, energy efficiency, and decarbonization into its operations, FFG aims to position itself as a leader in sustainable and future-oriented production. Customers will benefit from a diverse range of specialized machines and manufacturing systems, enabling them to adapt swiftly to both regional and global market demands.

“Our strong vision, capable leadership, and commitment to our customers’ success are the foundations for future growth,” said Dr. Sebastian Schöning. “With the steps we are taking now, FFG is well-positioned to expand its presence in the global machine tool industry.” Founder and Chairman Jimmy Chu echoed this sentiment, stating, “I am confident that under the leadership of Dr. Schöning and Rong-Rong Liu, FFG will be at the forefront of innovative technologies and achieve its objectives.”

FFG brings together the rich traditions of the machine tool industries from Germany, Switzerland, Italy, the United States, China, Taiwan, Korea, and Japan under one umbrella. Brands such as VDF Boehringer, CORCOM, DMC, Feeler, Hessapp, IMAS, Jobs, Leadwell, MAG, Meccanodora, Morara, Pfiffner, Rambaudi, Sachman, Sigma, SMS, SNK, Tacchella, and Witzig & Frank represent a highly innovative portfolio of turning, milling, and grinding machines.

The extensive product and technology range makes FFG a preferred supplier of cutting machine tools and systems, from cost-effective standard models to advanced production plants and automation solutions. FFG’s products and systems are widely used by leading companies in various industries, including automotive, commercial vehicles, aerospace, machinery, metalworking, energy, and general engineering. A vast network of manufacturing and sales locations, along with subsidiaries and service centers, ensures FFG’s strong international presence and market proximity.
