Indian electric vehicle startup Blackbuck EV is expanding its ELON range by introducing a sleeper version of its ELON 3X e-bus. The new model, designed to offer enhanced comfort for long-distance travel, is set to hit the market by the end of 2025. Blackbuck EV, founded in 2019, is responding to strong demand from Indian customers by offering a sleeper bus with increased headroom and beds measuring 1.8 meters.

The ELON 3X sleeper bus will feature 36 beds and around 8 cubic meters of luggage space. It will be available in two range options—300km and 400km per charge—allowing operators to choose the model that best suits their routes. The bus’s interior will include premium materials, ergonomic designs, and advanced amenities to ensure a luxurious travel experience.

Blackbuck EV has already opened pre-order bookings for its new e-bus models and has received significant interest from private transport operators. The company has secured Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) for 350 buses, including both seater and sleeper models, from customers in India and abroad.

Blackbuck EV is also in advanced discussions with other potential buyers and aims to reach 1,000 preorders by the end of the year. Production and delivery are planned to begin within four years of production commencement, with pre-order customers prioritized on a first-come, first-served basis.

The first micro factory is expected to be operational by the third quarter of 2025, with full-scale production starting later that year. This will allow Blackbuck EV to meet its delivery targets and address the growing demand for electric buses.

Additionally, Blackbuck EV has introduced a service model called EBAAS (Electric Bus as a Service), which aims to improve the customer experience by offering comprehensive support. This includes Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs), warranties, and charging infrastructure.

The EBAAS digital fleet management tool will provide features like real-time tracking, charging station locations, driver management systems, and service scheduling, giving customers the tools they need to effectively manage their electric bus fleets.
