SUN Mobility, renowned for its innovative sustainable energy solutions, has recently introduced a groundbreaking retrofit kit for Tata ACE vehicles through a partnership with Bluwheelz. This initiative offers fleet operators the opportunity to transform their existing Tata ACE vehicles—whether they are powered by internal combustion engines (ICE) or fixed batteries—into electric vehicles (EVs) equipped with SUN Mobility’s advanced battery swapping technology.

The launch event, which attracted a diverse group of Tata ACE fleet operators and financiers, highlighted the potential benefits of this new solution. The retrofit kit aims to provide a cost-effective alternative to investing in brand-new diesel or CNG vehicles. Officials at the event noted that operators transitioning from CNG vehicles to the retrofit battery swapping EVs could experience a monthly cost reduction of approximately 30%.

Meanwhile, those making the switch from diesel vehicles might see an even greater savings, potentially up to 40% per month. These cost savings are a significant draw for fleet operators who are looking to enhance their operational efficiency while managing expenses. The electric Tata ACE, now available with SUN Mobility’s swappable battery technology, promises several advantages, including an extended vehicle lifespan, lower operational costs, and increased vehicle uptime.

One particularly noteworthy benefit is the ability to operate during restricted hours in areas such as Delhi, where vehicles face no-entry restrictions. This feature could significantly boost productivity for businesses that rely on these vehicles for daily operations. Moreover, the retrofit option presents a strategic advantage for businesses aiming to comply with government regulations that mandate a shift towards electric vehicles.

By retrofitting their existing fleet, businesses can align with these regulations without incurring the high costs associated with purchasing new electric vehicles. Anant Badjatya, CEO of SUN Mobility, emphasized that the retrofit initiative would initially be launched in the National Capital Region (NCR) before extending to other states across India.

Sanjiv Gupta, Founder and Chairman of Bluwheelz, voiced his enthusiasm for the collaboration, describing the retrofit kits as a vital step towards reducing carbon emissions and improving operational efficiency. The event also served as a platform for engaging with fleet operators about their perspectives on transitioning to electric vehicles, further underscoring the collaborative nature of this innovative venture.
