AGEL, Adani Green Energy, announced on Monday the successful operationalization of a cumulative 1,000 MW solar energy capacity at Khavda, located in Gujarat. This achievement marks a significant milestone in AGEL’s journey towards its ambitious target of 45,000 MW by 2030, as stated in a company release.

Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) is a leading renewable energy company in India, part of the Adani Group. Established in 2015, AGEL has rapidly expanded its portfolio of renewable energy projects, including solar and wind power plants. The company is committed to sustainable development and has set ambitious goals for carbon neutrality.

AGEL’s projects are known for their innovative technology, high efficiency, and environmental sustainability. With a strong focus on clean energy solutions, the company is contributing significantly to India’s renewable energy goals and is poised to play a key role in the global transition to clean energy.

The company accomplished the delivery of this 1,000 MW capacity in less than 12 months from the commencement of work at Khavda, involving the installation of approximately 2.4 million solar modules. This rapid progress demonstrates AGEL’s strong commitment to supporting India’s aspirations of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030.

Spanning an impressive 538 square kilometers of barren land, the world’s largest renewable energy plant, boasting a capacity of 30 gigawatts (GW), is a colossal endeavor by any measure. This vast expanse is five times larger than Paris, highlighting the scale of the project.

Over the next five years, it aims to not only generate clean energy but also create more than 15,200 green jobs, contributing significantly to the local economy. The project is a testament to the combined strengths of various entities within the Adani Group.

Leveraging the project execution capabilities of Adani Infra, the technological expertise of Adani New Industries Limited (ANIL), and the operational excellence of AIMSL, Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) is poised to replicate its success. AGEL’s track record includes the development and operation of India’s first and the world’s largest wind-solar hybrid cluster in Jaisalmer.

In Khavda, innovative solutions are being implemented to integrate sustainable practices. Notably, AGEL has committed to deploying waterless cleaning robots across the entire solar capacity to combat dust accumulation on panels. This initiative not only aims to increase energy output but also helps conserve water, a precious resource in the arid region of Kutch.
