JAKSON Green E-Mobility has emerged as the winning bidder in a tender floated by CESL for the deployment of 220 electric buses in Gujarat under the Government of India’s PM-eBus Sewa Programme. The order comes within the company’s first year of operations and expands its presence in India’s electric bus and commercial vehicle market.
The project covers 120 electric buses in Vadodara, 80 in Gandhidham and 20 in Navsari. Under a 12-year Gross Cost Contract (GCC), JAKSON Green E-Mobility will procure, deploy, operate and maintain 9-metre air-conditioned electric buses in the three cities. The contract also includes the development, operation and maintenance of charging infrastructure. This integrated arrangement is intended to support bus availability and the delivery of public transport services throughout the contract period.
Deepak Thakur, Chief Executive Officer of JAKSON Green E-Mobility, said the order marked an important step in the company’s plans to establish a long-term presence in electric public and commercial transportation. “Securing this 220-electric-bus order within our first year of e-mobility operations is an important milestone, reflecting our commitment to building a long-term presence in providing integrated ecosystem approach in electric vehicles for public and commercial transportation solutions.
By integrating electric buses, charging infrastructure and fleet operations, we aim to deliver safe, reliable and efficient mobility solutions for the people of Vadodara, Gandhidham and Navsari. This project strengthens our contribution to India’s energy transition by extending it into everyday urban mobility,” he said.
JAKSON Green E-Mobility is developing its business around electric vehicle deployment, charging infrastructure, fleet operations and lifecycle maintenance. The Gujarat project adds a long-term service commitment to these activities, with an emphasis on operational efficiency, passenger safety and comfort.
The buses are expected to support the three cities’ transition towards public transport with zero tailpipe emissions. The project also contributes to the objectives of the PM-eBus Sewa Programme, which seeks to expand electric bus-based public transportation. The company’s approach combines vehicles and charging facilities with operational and maintenance services rather than focusing solely on fleet supply. The 12-year contract provides a framework for managing these elements over the operating life of the project.
The order marks an early step in JAKSON Green E-Mobility’s expansion in India’s electric bus and commercial vehicle sector as cities and transport operators explore options to reduce emissions from public transport. Through the Gujarat deployment, the company aims to establish its capabilities in integrated electric mobility services and support the wider adoption of electric buses in urban transportation.
