Tata Advanced Systems Ltd (TASL) will manufacture the Boeing 737 fan cowl at its Hyderabad site and will fulfil half of the monthly 737 fan cowl requirements beginning in fiscal year 2025.

According to a press release, the company will supply 50% of the monthly demand beginning in fiscal year 2025. Sukaran Singh, Managing Director and CEO, stated that, “The contract was won despite global competition. The award of the strategic 737 fan cowl structures to TASL demonstrates Boeing and TASL's strong relationship.”

Fan cowl doors protect engine mounted components and accessories by providing an aerodynamic covering over the engine’s fan case between the inlet and the thrust reverser. According to the company, there are two fan cowl doors (left and right) around each engine that may be opened to enable access for repair and maintenance of engine components and accessories on the fan case of the engine.

Projects like this with Boeing and other global aerospace companies have substantially aided in the development of TASL's capabilities, allowing the company to build a whole aircraft or helicopter at high rate production, to world quality standards, in India, according to the company. TASL claims that its facilities in Nagpur, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad produce thousands of essential systems and components for some of Boeing's most advanced products. It operates a factory in Nagpur that produces innovative composite floor beams for all Boeing Dreamliner aeroplane versions.

Tata-Boeing’s joint venture in Telangana, which makes fuselages for Apache helicopters, recently introduced a new manufacturing line to make vertical fin structures for the 737 family of aeroplanes.

TASL is a wholly owned company of Tata Sons that delivers integrated aerospace, defence, and homeland security solutions. From its sites in Nagpur, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad, it also manufactures a number of crucial systems and components for some of Boeing’s most advanced products.
