Millworks Technologies Limited has established a Centre of Excellence for 3D printing in collaboration with US-based Markforged Holding Corporation at its Bengaluru facility. The centre is intended to support the development of prototypes, tooling and functional components for aerospace and defence programmes.

The facility houses seven machines, including industrial 3D printers, resin-printing systems, post-processing equipment and a 3D scanner. It will enable Millworks to produce carbon fibre composite and polymer components in-house, helping reduce development time and respond to customer requirements.

The equipment includes a Markforged FX10 industrial composite printer, a Markforged Mark Two Gen 2 continuous fibre printer, Formlabs Form 4 and Form 4L resin printers with post-processing systems, a MetaForm 700 large-format FDM printer and a 3DeVOK MT 3D scanner. The setup supports applications ranging from functional prototypes and development parts to fixtures and tooling.

The centre operates on Markforged’s Digital Forge platform, which connects industrial printers, engineering materials and software. Its capabilities include continuous-fibre printing using carbon fibre, Kevlar, fibreglass and high-temperature fibreglass, as well as high-resolution and large-format resin printing. Design, printing, post-processing, scanning and dimensional inspection can be carried out within the facility.

Sridhar Acharya, Managing Director of Millworks Technologies, said the centre would help the company deliver development parts within shorter timelines. He said the in-house printing capabilities would strengthen its role as an engineering partner from the early stages of aerospace and defence programmes. Acharya added that qualification for long-term programmes could also support recurring business for the company’s precision machining operations.

Founded in 2021 by Mr Acharya and Madhu HK, Whole-Time Director, Millworks Technologies manufactures machined components, sheet metal parts and integrated assemblies for railways, aerospace, defence and semiconductor customers. The company operates under Build-to-Print and Build-to-Spec models, providing manufacturing and job-work services primarily to original equipment manufacturers.

Millworks has four manufacturing facilities in Bengaluru, with capabilities in CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, electrical discharge machining, laser cutting, assembly and inspection. Its quality systems are certified to AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 standards.

The company was listed on the BSE SME platform on July 21, 2026. For FY26, it reported total income of ₹153.40 crore, EBITDA of ₹56.65 crore and net profit of ₹37.06 crore. Exports accounted for 27.47% of its business, with customers across 12 countries. The new centre adds additive manufacturing to Millworks’ existing engineering and production capabilities, allowing the company to support customers through prototyping, product development and manufacturing preparation.

Millworks Technologies is a Bengaluru-based precision engineering manufacturer serving railway, aerospace, defence and semiconductor sectors. Its operations cover precision machining, sheet metal fabrication, assembly and inspection for mission-critical applications.
